Quick Tips for a Calm Nightstand

This quick tip comes from a recent column I wrote for North East Seattle Living Magazine. I publish an organizing column for their magazine each month, and I’ll share them here as well!
When our nightstand is calm and uncluttered, it helps us unwind at the end of the day and leads to more restful sleep. Here are 4 quick tips for a calmer nightstand.
GET CLEAR:
Take everything off of your nightstand and out of the drawers.
EDIT USING THE RULE OF 3:
Keep only the book you are reading, an inspirational or religious text, and the book you plan to read next.
MAKE SPACE FOR SELF-CARE:
Designate a drawer or tray that contains a special hand cream, your favorite lip-balm, and scented candle that relaxes you.
SET-UP A HIDDEN CHARGING STATION:
Drill a hole in the back of your nightstand and run power-strip through to the inside. That way, you can charge your phone or tablet behind closed doors.
Here’s to a restful night sleep!
