Mission:
Organized By Heart, is a home decluttering + organizing business in Seattle, WA, founded by Lauren Fink Shea. My mission is to collaborate with you to create functional, beautiful, and sustainable organizing systems that give you time + space for what you love and part with what no longer serves you.
My Process:
I created the H.E.A.R.T. method (Hone, Eliminate, Assign, Repurpose, Transition) to guide you in a seamless process, make decluttering easier, show you innovative and resourceful ways to use what you already have to organize your home, and help you design systems that last. The final result is a space that’s reflective of you and your family and easy to maintain—a space with heart. This process may even help you let go of other stresses and barriers in your life, which is my favorite part!
Core Values:
Dream it + Do it: Let’s dream big, and take concrete steps to make those dreams happen, at home and in life.
Resourcefulness Empowers: Using what we have in creative ways empowers us, respects the planet, and brings us joy. We have everything we need to create a home and life we love.
Service Matters: Our light shines brighter when we serve and lift others. I strive to give service that surprises and delights.
Feel Good Rather than Perfect: Let’s pay attention to detail, but let go of perfection. We are not perfect, and neither are our homes, and that’s okay! Let’s aim for spaces that feel good to us by reflecting our values and goals.
Collaboration is Everything: Doing things alone only gets us more of what we already know. Collaborating creates innovation.
Background + Expertise:
I have my M.A. in English with specialty in Creative Writing, and I taught English at the college level for over ten years. I also worked as the Director of the Writing Center, where I managed a staff and served over 100 students/week. My work as an educator and director helped me develop the organizational, interpersonal, and professional skills that I bring to my business today.
Enter kids—which changed everything! After my youngest son was born, I felt called to stay home with my boys full-time for a few years. During that time, my passion for organizing and interest in entrepreneurship grew. With much encouragement from my community of friends and family, I decided to launch Organized By Heart in 2018, as well as a weekly blog. Every Wednesday I write to women just like me, who want to organize so they have time to pursue their dreams.
I’m passionate about reading and studying organizational techniques and approaches, connecting with people, hearing their stories, and empowering them to take a role in the process. Clients walk away empowered with new organizing and productivity strategies along with a greater sense of control over their homes and lives. This is the value that I bring as a professional organizer.
What Clients Love About Working With Me
“Lauren was so helpful with organizing my hallway drop zone/ mud area, this area has been bugging me for way too long. Lauren gave me ideas I hadn’t thought of and she also gave me some great ideas for organizing my bathroom as well. Now things have a home and the space doesn’t look like an unorganized drop zone, we even used bins and jars I already had. I highly recommend Lauren’s organizing services.” — Hannah E., Roosevelt

“The best part of organizing are those aha moments when a client opens a closet to find the shirt from the concert where she met her husband, the box that contains the bowl her dad used to make pancakes every Saturday morning of her childhood, the print she bought on her first solo trip to Italy— the one that made her feel like she could do anything. These are the treasures that tell our stories. I encourage my clients to get these things out, display them, use them, and let go of what no longer speaks. This is my philosophy at Organized By Heart.”
